Vegamót is an elegant but casual two floor Bistro, located in the heart of the city on Vegamótastígur, directly across Mál & Menning, the large bookstore on Laugavegur. It is one of those places that have the wonderful quality of being all in one, bistro, café and a bar. The decor is rich on the Mediterranean side, yet elegant with jazzy ambience. During the summer tables are brought out to a cozy terrace sheltered from the wind where one can enjoy a light meal or a cup of coffee. 

Vegamót are famous for their “fresh fish of the day”, served lunch hours and onwards. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, portions, and presentation of the dishes and there is a wide selection of decadent desserts –for those who make it that far.
The selection of good beer is excellent and every day has a special offer on bottled beer at kr. 390.-

Food is served from noon until evening every day. As the night progresses the atmosphere starts to change and the crowd with it as Vegamót evolves into a wild night club where Iceland’s best dj’s turn their tricks in a non stop party.
